Do you imagine that you're the one living your life?
Most of us do, most of the time.
But what if it wasn't you living your life? What if something else were in charge of EVERYTHING, including your life?
What if, rather than living your own life, you were actually being lived?
What if there wasn't actually a you at all, but only this that's living you, dreaming you and everything else up for the fun of it?
You are not merely this body, with its joys and problems.
You are more than your mind, with its thoughts, worries and judgments.
Step out of your mind!
...and discover your deepest, most intimate,
most fulfilling reality.
Message from the author
I love writing, but I wasn't actually trying to write Notes to Self. And I had certainly never before channeled anything in my life.
All I know is that I started writing out the question "Who am I?" over and over again during multiple sessions of meditative writing over the course of a few months.
And to my surprise, little snippets that seemed to be answers to my very question "insisted" on being written down. It was like a force literally took over my hand. I watched in awe as my fingers gripped the pen which formed letters, words and sentences that landed on the page without any pre-thought impulse on my part.
The ensuing "Notes to Self" were all a big jumble that I had no idea would turn
out to be a manuscript, eventually. But clearly, they did.
At first I thought the book might be more for me than for anyone else, and I event titled it notes to self. But I gave away a few copies after first publishing the book. And the feedback coming in is that Notes to Self has helped others connect with what they already know to be true but so easily forget. Also that it has been a great reference during peaceful times, and a great up-lifter during hard ones.
One friend reported experiencing a breakthrough during a difficult time after randomly opening the book and reading one of the notes. The same has happened to me several times, and I love to start my day reading one or a few of the notes. It helps me put my life and whatever I'm going through in perspective. Big time.
Below are some sample notes from the book. You can buy Notes to Self here.
